The 2010–2023 GX uses the same key setup, so everything on this page applies to those years too. The full picture is on the Lexus GX key guide.

2022 Lexus GX: key facts

Key type: Smart / proximity key
Push-to-start: Yes
Transponder chip: Varies by trim — we confirm by VIN
Programming: OBD
All keys lost: We can originate new keys on site

GX460 kept the HYQ14ACX smart-key platform to the end of production, but the catalog listings we checked run 2010-2020 — fob part number confirmed by VIN on 2021-2023 trucks. Catalog listings also disagree on the chip label inside the HYQ14ACX fob ('DST+'/DST80 vs DST40) — we match by FCC ID and board number.

Same key system as the 2010–2023 GX

Lexus kept the GX's key system unchanged across 2010–2023, so everything about replacing a 2022 key — blanks, programming, and what happens if every key is lost — matches the rest of that run. The full year-by-year breakdown lives in our Lexus GX key guide.

What drives the price is the key type, whether you still have a working key, and where the car is parked. There's more on Lexus programming in general on our Lexus key page.
