The shop on Wilshire, since 1987

Wilshire Lock & Key has worked Los Angeles locks since 1987 — long enough to have rekeyed the same front doors for two generations of owners. The storefront at 10740 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024 in Westwood is a real counter you can walk up to; the vans that dispatch from it cover 140 cities across Los Angeles and Ventura counties, 34 services deep, at any hour of any day. Call (213) 577-1366 and a person answers.

How we work

One company, one phone number. We don't run a dispatch network that sells your call to whoever bids for it — the person who answers works here, and the technician who shows up does too. You get the price factors explained before any work starts, non-destructive entry methods first, and every key tested in front of you before we leave.

Who's behind it

David, owner & lead technician, oversees every part of the operation — from the pinning benches at the shop to the programming gear in the vans. The trade has changed a lot since 1987 — transponder chips, smart fobs, app-controlled deadbolts — and keeping up with it honestly is the whole job.

What we believe about licensing

California requires locksmith companies to hold a BSIS locksmith license (LCO) and locksmith employees to be registered and background-checked. We think you should ask any locksmith — including us — for their license details before they touch your door. It's the single fastest way to filter out the scam dispatchers that plague this trade in Los Angeles.
