The LX keeps a bladed remote key while EX and above have push-button start with a 4A Hitag-AES smart key (catalogs also list a Texas AES ID75 variant). We have not confirmed in which year the base LX gained a standard immobilizer — we verify per VIN before quoting. OBD programming; a Kia PIN may be required.
