The 2023–2025 Elantra uses the same key setup, so everything on this page applies to those years too. The full picture is on the Hyundai Elantra key guide.

2024 Hyundai Elantra: key facts

Key type: Transponder chip key
Push-to-start: No
Transponder chip: Varies by trim — we confirm by VIN
Programming: OBD
All keys lost: We can originate new keys on site

Facelifted CN7: push-button trims use NXP Hitag-AES smart fobs, but fob listings for this fob family disagree on the chip ID ('4A' vs '6A', one lists ID49) — we identify the chip by part number on the vehicle. The base SE retains a bladed ignition. Aftermarket Hitag-AES support (Autel and similar) is reported but still maturing for all-keys-lost — we confirm tool coverage per job.

Same key system as the 2023–2025 Elantra

Hyundai kept the Elantra's key system unchanged across 2023–2025, so everything about replacing a 2024 key — blanks, programming, and what happens if every key is lost — matches the rest of that run. The full year-by-year breakdown lives in our Hyundai Elantra key guide.

What drives the price is the key type, whether you still have a working key, and where the car is parked. There's more on Hyundai programming in general on our Hyundai key page.
