The 2019–2023 Ranger uses the same key setup, so everything on this page applies to those years too. The full picture is on the Ford Ranger key guide.

2023 Ford Ranger: key facts

Key type: Transponder chip key
Push-to-start: No
Transponder chip: 128-bit (NXP Hitag Pro, PCF7939F)

All keys lost: We can originate new keys on site

Same T6 platform and key system as 2019-2020 (Strattec H128-PT fitment runs 2019-2021; flip-key fitment through 2022-2023); Lariat uses a smart fob with push-button start. For 2021+ we confirm current aftermarket all-keys-lost coverage before quoting. NASTF's own service guidance confirms PATS functions through Ford FDRS/FJDS with a non-dealer login require NASTF VSP credentials or an OEM-assisted immobilizer request; aftermarket tool coverage for these years varies — we confirm current coverage before quoting, and say plainly if a job is dealer-or-VSP-only.

Same key system as the 2019–2023 Ranger

Ford kept the Ranger's key system unchanged across 2019–2023, so everything about replacing a 2023 key — blanks, programming, and what happens if every key is lost — matches the rest of that run. The full year-by-year breakdown lives in our Ford Ranger key guide.

What drives the price is the key type, whether you still have a working key, and where the car is parked. There's more on Ford programming in general on our Ford key page.
